I'm good again!

Not that I was ever BAD - but my blog was behaving badly. I just couldn't shake that pesky Happy Holiday's banner. It's all valentiney now! Yeah!

So I got to crop this weekend and did a total of 22 pages, finished a mini album, punched out about a gajillion Mickey Mouse heads, and got some nice chick time in! It was nice to work a little and visit with the other girls. Very Nice! And wow, 22 pages was HUGE - seeing how I have only done one page so far this year before this weekend. I haven't scanned any of my pages yet, but I will. Maybe this weekend. I'm adjusting to being busy with subbing, laundry, dishwashing, homework (cole's, not mine), trying to get to church more - lots of stuff going on. I've been out of this working all the time, trying to balance real life and raising a kid at the same time thing. I mean I haven't had a full time job since Cole was born, although I don't really have one now either, but any time I'm working three times in a week I get a little crazy. Add to that a few things to do in the evening other than veg out in front of the tv and I'm at a loss for what to do when. So I get up early and tip toe around while the boys sleep, empty the dishwasher, wash some clothes, etc - and in the afternoons I do the same things - again. I guess when it's something you do every day you get used to it. But subbing is random, you never know when you'll get called and you never know if you'll work the next day so you just have to plan ahead. Planning ahead is great really, I love the idea of it, but executing it isn't always my strong suite!

Anyway on to other things - we finally got a new set of glasses - remember in the survey the other day I mentioned always drinking out of plastic because I have strong dislike for our glasses - well we've been looking in many places trying to find a new set we both like - something that's big enough for jason and cute enough for me. We had a hard time agreeing, but finally at Walmart we found a set that we both agreed on - so now we own new glasses. The others were wedding gifts and about 8 years old. It was time to move on.

On the same shopping trip we bought a new printer. It'll print pictures, regular printing is quicker than our old printer and it scans, copies, reads memory cards - all that fun stuff. The best part - are you ready? It's wireless!! So now Jason can print from the laptop without having to email himself his homework, kick me off my computer to pull it up and then print it and then realize he messed something up and needs to redo something leaving me to wait and wait to get back on the computer. So we're happy campers. New printer that fits both our needs, new glasses we agreed on - what more do you need in life?

Ok - remember all that busy stuff - well it's time to get back to it. I've gotta run and get my clothes for tomorrow ready (i'll be in the fourth grade) and get Cole's clothes ready (he's still in first) and then get my clothes for Thursday ready because I won't be home tomorrow night. or tonight either. Cole is going to play with his little girlfriends tonight and we're going to church tomorrow night. THis is our first Wednesday night visit and I'm hesitant. It starts at 7 which means we'll be heading home around 8:30 and i'm certain cole will fall asleep in the car at some point and that stinks. I'm hoping instead, he'll fall asleep in the car on the way home from school, take a little 15 minute nape and be good to go for church. We'll see what happens. I just can't really get enough of this church, so we're going to give it a try. Plus Monique has to sit by herself on Wednesday night and I just can't let her do that!! :)

ok - the dryer just beeped, gotta go fold more clothes! yippee

Pardon our Progress......

Please hang with me as I change my blog around a little. It was past time for a new look - it isn't Christmas anymore, after all. So I made a cute little valentine banner but blogger LOVES the current one so much, it won't let go of it and let me replace it. I've tried everything and it just won't go away!!

so for now the background doesn't match the banner and for that - pardon me!!

i'll keep trying!

Photo of the day Catch Up

I've really wanted to take a picture every day so far this year - but it just hasn't happened. It's happened a lot though - so I'm going to post what I can today and swear to do better tomorrow (and every day after).

This was taken on the 10th - Cole was just being crazy and actually tried to hide when I got the camera out!

Friday, January 11th - one of the MANY pictures of Cole playing with his 'tendo ds'!!

Saturday the 12th, this was taken with my self timer option.

Monday, the 14th - my altered suitcase.

This was from Tuesday the 15th.

This was taken Saturday outside the back door entering into our building.

This was also taken Saturday, before the snow really starting coming down. I seemed to have gotten the fuzzy background, object in focus thing on this one, but i'm not really sure how!! :)

And this is from today - and a little blurry - but his little kissy face is really cute so I just couldn't help it!!

Thanks for looking!

So, anyone want to Pay It Forward??

So I was checking my Bloglines this afternoon after work and read an update from Mandy - she is really funny!! I always get a little excited when I see she's updated!! Anyway, she was suffering from a headache and thought she needed a dose of good karma. She offered to send something handmade to three bloggers and three non-bloggers in the next 365 days - but only if those 6 would do the same for someone else.

She posted later in her comments that her headache was gone - so it must have worked. I have a little bit of a headache, as well - so maybe this will help that too!

So - leave me a comment and three people (the first three of course) will get something handmade from me some time in the next 365 days - ok 366 - it's leap year, after all. You have to do the same though - post on your blog, or if you are blogger-less, just put it in your comment, you know what you'll do and who for!! I love paying it forward!

So on to other things - I've subbed two days in a row and am subbing again tomorrow and I'm just pooped!! I ruined a pair of shoes today by sitting in the floor, you know, on my legs, so that my shoes were rubbing the carpet!!! ARGH!! That makes me crazy. Since I've been dieting, I've lost almost 40 pounds and have two pair of dress pants that fit - that's all. So now I'm down a pair of shoes too. I so wish I had a consistent paycheck. Geez, it's been so long since I've had that, I won't know what to do when I have one!! Seriously!

Ok, we have spelling words to write, speech therapy homework, and classwork that didn't get finished - PLUS bath time, story time and all the fun stuff that happens every night. So i'm out of here.

Leave me a comment and I'll send you something handmade - this year - sometimes - I make no promises of when yet. :) And this will be a test to see how many people actually read my blog. I'm guessing it's not many - we'll see!!

Catching up!!

So I've finally done a layout - my first in two months I think, or close to two at least. So here's my first layout of 2008. Jason likes the picture but said his head is cut off - well that's what you get when you put the camera on top of the entertainment center and use the timer!! :) Hmm, I think I need to scan it - this isn't a great shot.....

And this is a little check off calendar thingy for Cole - we made a deal about trying new foods - so we're keeping up with it here:

And here are my photos for the last few days:

a Waterford Crystal Bear Bryant Hat

Cole saying 'Good Grief' when Ella Claire tried to poke him in the nose!!

That's all i've got - thanks for looking!!

Photo of the Day - my start

Well, I wanted to post my resolutions and my thoughts about the last year, and this new year. But, I haven't exactly figured it all out yet. So instead, I'm starting the whole Photo of the Day thing and so far, I have a picture from the first three days of the year. I'm going to try to post them daily, but it may not happen!! We have big plans this weekend, so I'm sure we'll have great photos from that! Jason's brother, sister in law and nephew are coming and we're heading to Tuscaloose tomorrow for some sight seeing - lots of photo ops at the University of Alabama campus!!

So here's photo number 1 - from the first. Cole was climbing under the dining room table - playing around.

And from the 2nd of January - cookies I baked, thinking it would be a fun night - movies, milk and cookies, snuggled in the bed - the three of us. Cole took one bite and said 'I like regular cookies, Mommy!'

And the 3rd of January - me in the place I seem to be the most - the laundry room!! Jason caught me turning on the washer - hair in pigtails!! Thanks, honey!!
