Harry Harry Harry Potter

OK - if you don't know what happens - you are safe to continue reading - there are no spoilers here. All I will say is I finished the book in less than 30 hours - counting the sleeping I had to do. Less than 20 total reading hours. It was amazing. All I'll say is you will be on the edge of your seat for the entire ride. It's everything I feared and everything I hoped.

Saw this quiz on Virginia's blog and thought I would play along! My Harry Potter Alter Ego is ...

You scored as a Ron Weasley
You often feel like second best and as a result don't have an awful lot of self confidence, but a truer more capable friend would be hard to find.
Ron Weasley 75%
Hermione Granger 70%
Harry Potter 65%
Remus Lupin 60%
Ginny Weasley 60%
Sirius Black 55%
Severus Snape 50%
Albus Dumbledore 50%
Draco Malfoy 50%
Lord Voldemort 25%

You can play along here if you want - Harry Potter Alter Ego

Have fun - read the book!!

What a week!

So it's been almost a week since I blogged. I've been busy! In that time, I've been to Mobile, Biloxi and back home, and in a way, I went to New Orleans too. I've finished a mini album, I've done more layouts that I can count, ok not really - but several, and finished Cole's cute little banner for his play room! And finished my application for the state - so I can get a job!

So we went to Mobile to get Jason's car. It broke down the day before we moved! So we have it back now. We stayed with my brother-in-law and his family! We just happened to be there on the weekend of my sister-in-laws birthday, so it was nice to get to do the birthday dinner with everyone. We stuck to our diet, pretty much, the whole time we were gone! That's a great thing. We spent the last night away in Biloxi. My parents were there for three nights and we just wanted to go at least one night. We stayed at one casino we've stayed at before - we were checking in and the hotel girl said oh you are going to love me. For some reason we got upgraded to a VIP suite. This sounds like we are big spenders, high rollers - we SO aren't!! But we'll still take the room like we are - that's how we roll! :) SO the room was huge, really nice. We had a good stay - slept in the giant wonderfully perfect bed!! Very Nice!

All my scrapping projects have really been fun. My mini book was fun - I forget my camera on the 4th though and took photos just with my camera phone. They were ok - but not what I really wanted. I didn't get a single picture of me, Jason and Cole together. I get this every year, in our 4th shirts, but not this year. I'm still a but grumpy about that!!! I'm in a circle journal group over at SIStv and have worked on those pages this week - I'm almost done. I think I have 6 sets of pages done! It's really been fun. I've got a few other projects I want to get underway but just haven't yet! Maybe this weekend.

I've submitted my application for jobs with the state. So please say a little prayer that I find a job quickly and easily. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm going to start calling tomorrow and making inquiries! And I hope I find something in the lower grades - I would love Kindergarten. I've said many times that it's hard and I'm not sure if I could do it - but it's really where I think I want to be. I'll take anything, but after spending time in Cole's kindergarten class and one of the other classes at his school, I just love what has to be taught and the way you get to teach it. It's not so structured at that point. You have room to make it fun and that's what I really want to do. Have fun with the kids. I want them to learn without realizing they are learning! I just can't wait to have a job and have a classroom!!! And a paycheck would really be nice too!

Cole is doing great! We're on day 35 of growth hormone therapy. I'm not sure if he's grown yet - but he's gotten much better at taking his shot. He doesn't fuss too much anymore and just squinches his eyes up and takes it. I'm so proud of him. We've been struggling with lots of things with him - he is such a picky eater, and we can't get him to try new stuff. He's also been waking up in the middle of the night and getting in our bed - every night for over 6 months. I'm not sure why - but he's still doing it. Finally I just put a stool at the bottom of the bed so he could climb up without waking me. Silly me - what was I thinking?? We've talked to him the last two nights about how he's a big boy and needs to stay in his bed all night. If he wakes up, try to go back to sleep first and if you can't come get us, and we'll go back to the bed with him. Well the last two nights, he's stayed in his bed until 8 am - instead of 4am!!! So YEAH - so far so good. We need to break this before school starts.

Well, that's about all here. Still job hunting, still haven't unpacked everything, but still love being HOME!

I've been Tagged

So Kelly tagged me and I love to be tagged - so here ya go, this is what I'm supposed to do!

1-post these rules
2-each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves
3-tags should write a blog post of these facts
4- at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named

Okay, so here's me 8 random facts about little ole me:

1. I'm currently unemployed and can't wait to get a job, but can't until all this paperwork falls through!

2. I've worked for 5 different companies that are no longer in business. They either closed while I was working for them or shortly after. I'm known in the family for putting places out of business! :) But I really did nothing, of course, to cause this to happen!!

3. I've been so bored lately that I've actually sorted my silverware into the proper compartments in the dishwasher (you know, all the little forks together, teaspoons together, steak knives together). Yes, I know it's crazy, I've been bored.

4. I just found out Wednesday that my cousin and his wife are having a BOY and I'm so excited for them!

5. I am scared to geckos and lizards, mostly geckos, but luckily they don't live in the area we just moved to, so I'm safe for now!

6. I'm a pretty emotional person, but rarely cry when other people do - like at funerals at such. I don't know why, I'm not emotionally dead like Chandler on Friends, but this is just something I don't do in public I guess.

7. My husband thinks I type too fast and is currently giving me a hard time about how there is smoke billowing from the keyboard and Cole is saying GO FASTER MOMMY. GO GO GO. I could type about 95 words per minute when I graduated from highschool.

8. I have seen Kenny Chesney in concert three times in the last two years and am going again in September. I would see him more than once a year if I could afford it. I love his music and his concerts are amazing. He's quite nice to look at too!

Ok - so I don't know who to tag because I don't know if anyone even reads this. So I'm posting on SIStv that I've blogged today and asking anyone who reads to tag themselves via me!

OK - on to other things. I went to a great class last night at Scrap Etc. It was "Get Creative with Magazines" and we made a great layout that was inspired by the teacher's (Shelley) art journal. Then we made our own art journals and went through magazines to find what we're inspired by. I had a pile of magazine things I'd torn out at home but didn't bring with me, so I shopped a little while the others were working. It was fun. I signed up for classes because I was so excited to take some new classes and meet the IT girls from Scrap Etc. I also hoped to meet some of the girls I've chatted with online through the Scrap Etc. website, but I didn't see any of those girls last night. So maybe at some of the other classes. And I should have gotten their earlier to chat and get to know the girls that were there, but I didn't.

We had a nice surprise yesterday. Jason's aunt lives about an hour from us and called saying she was coming to town and wanted to see us! She had Jason's grandmother with her too, and two of her kids too - Hannah and Baby Ella. So we got to show off our new place to the family and went to have lunch and hang out at the mall too! It was really great to see them. Cole was so sweet to Ella Claire! The other two times he's seen her, he would have nothing to do with her. She's only 6 months old and he just didn't want to have anything to do with her. But Yesterday - he tickled her and made faces at her while she just laughed and laughed at him. He rubbed noses with her and kissed her. It was so sweet. I didn't get any great pictures of this love, but I know it happened!! When they left he kissed her goodbye and told her he loved her. So sweet! I hope as she grows up, he'll be the sweet older cousin and look out for her and love her! I think he just didn't like the idea of her to begin with because he's never been around a baby really. But she's a great baby and rarely even cries, so he wasn't scared. He did keep asking everyone what she was saying, because he couldn't understand her! And finally he said she didn't use words yet. Oh, it was so sweet!

Well, I need some breakfast and need to get on with my day! Hope you have a wonderful one! And remember if you tag yourself, via me, leave me a message so I can see your 8 random things!

For some strange reason I can no longer title my posts here. I'm not sure why though, the box is there for a title, but I can't click inside it! hmmmmm......

Anyway, if it were going to have a title it would be: Gone Digital? I did a digital layout last night while playing around with some Cole pictures! It's ok, but I really prefer real paper and scissors and all that. I like playing with it but I LOVE my real life supplies! The supplies I used came from Scrap Girls. I really just like doing a digital page to post on Cole's Caringbridge page. Then when people come visit his site they see a little more than the one picture that Caringbridge is set up to hold. So you can see it here on Cole's Page! Yes I could post it here, but then you wouldn't go check out Cole's page and get pulled into our little world more. He has traveled an amazing journey and I can't do it justice if I don't send you over there to check it out! So, you'll just have to venture over and check out the journal history as well!

So, I've been working on a few projects. A mini album made out of giant playing cards is first. And it's almost done. I need to print out some journaling today and then embellish. And I'm making a cute little banner to put up in Cole's toy room. Can't wait to finish that. And I'm thinking about making one for decor at the baby shower we'll be doing soon for my cousin Jason and his wife Melanie. Hopefully we'll know about pink or blue on Wednesday!! I can't wait to find out!

We are currently a one computer family - which stinks - while the laptop is in the shop - again!!! So Jason needs to check his email and I'm sure Cole will want to play at some point. But right now, he's jamming out to CMT. That's what he asks for every morning - not cartoons, but CMT videos!!! Crazy Kid!

Got some scrapping done this week!! I did the latest Scrapjacked challenge and got a layout done about the fourth of July. I forgot my camera so I only took pictures with my camera phone. They turned out OK, but these two were taken once we got home from all the family fun. And I did a silly layout about the websites I check out everyday after reading my email. So that's all I've been doing. Well, that's not true. I've been working on layouts for circle journals and working on a journal for a swap at SIStv. I made a dry erase board for my kitchen from the webisode that Courtney did on SIStv. AND I'm working on converting my cousins into scrappers! Bailey and I worked on a mini book for her about her time at the beach this summer. And Hunter just got back from church camp and will have tons of pics, so we'll be starting her mini book too. I think they are coming over today so we'll be busy again! I love that they'll do this with me. I'm hoping their mom will get into it too. It would be so much fun for us to do this together - take classes and all kinds of fun stuff. I'm hoping that my cousin will want to attend the next Scrap Etc Event with me. It's really going to be so much fun!!! I hope she'll go for it. Ok - enough rambling - here's pics of what I've been up to!

{scrapjacked}
{the fourth}
{what I do every morning}
in case you can't tell - The Paper Place, Scrap Etc., SIStv, Nitty.Gritty

and this came from SIStv - watch the webisodes - they are great!
ok - gotta get outta here - need to go to the grocery store!

Happy Fourth of July

Good Morning! It's a lovely, well gloomy day here in Hoover. The sun isn't really out there yet this morning - hopefully it will peak through the clouds soon and be a bright and shiny day! We are planning to spend the day with family. We're cooking out for lunch at a cousin's house and they have a pool too - so the kids will be splashing around all day. Tonight, I'm really hoping to be able to catch the fireworks somewhere. It's too loud for Cole, but if there was anywhere we could sit in the car and watch them without hearing them - I would be all over it! I miss seeing the fireworks go off over the Vulcan's head and listening to the local country station play the soundtrack for the fireworks. It always ended with God Bless the USA when I was younger. I can remember sitting in a random parking lot downtown surrounded by trucks and cars with their radios blasting. It was always hot, always crowded and loud - but it was wonderful. I loved it every single year. It's been at least ten years since I've seen those fireworks but I can remember it like it was yesterday! The very last time I saw them was in 1997, in the parking lot of an apartment complex with one of our good friends, David Morgan. We were just hanging out and having a great holiday. I hope today will be lots of the same - fun times, good food (although it's still only meat for us Atkins dieters) and a great show in the sky!! I'm sure Jason has no idea how much I want to see the fireworks, but I hope we can make it work!!!

Last year, sadly I can't even remember what we did. I know that at some point everyone came to our house. Michael, my nephew, rode with us from where we were to our house. I really wanted a few pictures of us together on the holiday. Michael gladly obliged and took several pics of us! He did a great job, too! Here's the best of the bunch!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday today and spend it remembering the past holidays - I know two years ago we were stuck in Memphis and missing our family, but my cousin, her husband and the kids came to spend it with us. We rode the Riverboat in the Mississippi, we watched the fireworks over Mud Island from the interstate in Arkansas. It was a great day!!!
